Panama is projected to be the fastest growing country in Central America in the coming years. Focus Economics Consensus Forecast panelists expect the economy to expand 6.1% in 2015, which is down 0.1 percentage points from last month’s projection. For 2016, the panel forecasts growth of 6.3% .
Since the US handed over the rights to the Canal in 1999, Panama’s positive growth has been making headlines in many different sectors.
